SSI Level 1 Swim Teacher
The SSI Level 1 Swim Teacher program is the first step in the Certified Swim Teacher system and will prepare you to teach beginning swimmers from the ages of 3 through 15. You will have several tools for training to become a Certified swim teacher: a Classroom Session with a certified SSI Swim Teacher Instructor, In-Water Training Sessions, Apprenticeship with hands-on training, and this Teacher’s Manual.
SSI Level 2 Swim Teacher
The SSI Level 2 Swim Teacher program is the next step in the certified Swim Teacher system and will prepare you to teach beginning swimmers from the ages of 5 through 17. SSI Adult Swim Teacher

What is Autism Swim Certification?

The training provided with certification gives professionals a better understanding of autism, common behaviors or needs, safety awareness, and communication strategies.
Swim2u Swim Lesson Assignment System
- Upon completing the course, coaches are assigned swimming lesson clients by the swim school.
- Coaches have the flexibility to choose their assignments.
- Coaches can negotiate or accept the class schedule and venue.
- Lessons are conducted either at the client’s private pool or the coach’s venue if they live in a condo with a pool.
- Payment for coaches is based on the number of lessons completed by the end of the month.
- After accumulating 160 coaching hours, coaches will receive a full reimbursement for their course fees.
- Coaches are paid at the standard rate of $35-$70 per lesson (for 30 or 45 minutes) for the first 160 coaching hours.
- The rate will be reviewed and revised based on coach performance after completing 160 training hours.
- The 160 hours can be completed over any period, with no time limit for finishing them. Lead assignments depend on availability and are influenced by various market factors, such as demand, location, and instructor capacity. While we strive to provide opportunities to all certified instructors, the number of leads or assignments may fluctuate.

Checklist of Requirements for Enrolling in the Swimming Coach Course
- Minimum age: 16 years old or above.
- Proficient in at least two swimming strokes (breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke or butterfly).
- Need to be able to give communicate, clear instructions, provide feedback, and ensure the safety of all swimmers.
- Medically fit to teach swimming, with no medical conditions that could impair their ability to safely conduct swimming lessons.
